Cloth Diapers by Baby Zee

In Baby Butts on August 16, 2012 at 12:34 pm

I’ve been wearing these cloth diapers on my butt since I was born.  I like them, no diaper rash, no diaper cream, and when I have ‘an explosion’ it’s contained and doesn’t ‘explode’ out the back of my pants!

My mom was a little nervous about using cloth diapers in the beginning, they seemed like a lot of work, but now she says she couldn’t imagine doing it any other way.

Plus, I like that they come in all kinds of fun colours, and who wouldn’t want to wear undies called fuzzibunz!

Pro’s and Cons of Cloth Diapering:

PRO’s:

  1. No ‘explosions’ out the back of baby’s clothes (you don’t have to worry when they have a giant poop and they are in their car seat!)
  2. One time diaper purchase, and you can use them for multiple kids.  (I love the fact that when we go to the grocery store, I never have to buy boxes of diapers)
  3. Your house doesn’t smell like disposable diapers.  (Some people might like the smell, but I find there is a certain aroma to disposable diapers that for some reason fills your house… am I the only one?)
  4. Environment.  (Everyone can help do their own little part by avoiding putting diapers in landfills)
  5. They’re cute!
  6. They are cheaper in the long run!  (And even cheaper if you have a baby shower and people buy you diapers)

CON’s

  1. You have to wash them and hang them up (well you can put them in the dryer, which saves a bit of time)
  2. When baby does have an enormous crap, there is a little more cleanup involved.  (But you get good at holding your breath!)
  3. ……… there must be more cons, but I can’t think of any
